High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. Decided to eat here for dinner before seeing a movie, for the convenience. HORRIBLE FOOD. HORRIBLE DRINKS. Would not recommend to even my enemy. One star because the waitress wasn't horrible (Not particularly amazing, but not horrible)

Hey they have these chicken wonton tacos that are very tasty! And a great sirloin steak salad on a bed of spinach and grains! So a nice combination of hearty beef with light veggies and grains with a good sauce!!

since I eat here regularly I figured I should write a review. it's applebee's, what do you expect? fine dining? it's an applebees people. quit judging so harshly. the servers ive encountered are nice and the food is decent applebees american food. considering Im always here I obviously have nothing against the place. they introduce new items from time to time so thats a plus. bottom line: its decent food at a decent price. I will come back. I always come back.

I don't always go to Applebee's, but when I do, it's because my mom is craving for their riblets and I am craving dessert! I used to go here a little more often for dinner after the movies during my high school days (it's right by Muvico, ahem I mean, Cinemark). This is the spot where I discovered their Butter Pecan Blondie! Since then, at ANY Applebee's location, I order the blondie for dessert. If you didn't know what a blondie was, it's basically a vanilla brownie. But this one was more than just a brownie, it was perfectly baked goodness with candied pecans in every bite! Served on a cast-iron plate with vanilla ice cream on top and drizzled with glazed icing, it is the best dessert to end any Applebee's meal. Thank you, Dykes location, for helping me discover such heavenly dessert! This review is catered more for me "Room for Dessert?" list, but I guess I can also mention that whenever I do come here not just for dessert, I always go with the 2-for-$20 deal. You get an appetizer and two dishes from a special menu, so it's very cost-efficient! My mom sometimes redeem her credit card points for Applebees gift cards ($25) and our favorite dishes are actually on the the 2-for-$20 menu (she likes the riblet basket and I like the fiesta lime chicken and the 7 oz sirloin). So we usually go for the spinach artichoke appetizer, followed by our favorite dishes, and then we have $5 to spare for dessert. We just pay for the difference, drinks, and tip. So yes, if you ever come around for dessert, get the butter pecan blondie! You won't be disappointed!

I'm pleasantly surprised. Hubby likes this place...would not be my choice but hey he was hungry so here we are. I ordered a grilled spinach salad and I must say it was delicious and the shrimp were perfect. Looks like they revamped the place and the menu. Very nice greeting at the door I might add. Drinks are 2 for one, too bad I gave up drinking for a week. Umm, I think I might be back.

I enjoy going to Applebee's. One of my favorite dishes there is their Fiesta Lime Chicken! So delicious! And their loaded mashed potatoes are to die for - and I'm super picky with mashed potatoes. Went in for lunch today and I had the lunch combo for $7.99 of the Chicken Fajita Roll Up and French Onion Soup. Both items were very good. Service was good and very speedy. Waitress forgot to bring out appetizer and brought out meals first , when reminded about appetizer was very apologetic and brought it out right away. What I love about Applebee's is the nice, friendly staff and I love that every Applebee's is decorated according to local schools and sports teams. I've never had to wait, I walk right in and sit down and get helped right away. Prices are good, only wished they maybe had lunch time appetizers with smaller portions and cheaper prices considering our appetizer cost as much as our entrees. Hostess/Host is always at the front to greet and bid you farewell and hold the door open for you which is a very nice gesture. Menu has a lot of options which I love and they have a Weight Watchers section. Only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is because in order for me to give a 5, it has to be truly excellent food and service - it has to wow me. All in all good food, good people and good prices and they're always consistent.

The only good thing about my visit was the service, my waitress was super friendly and attentive. The food in the other hand was not so good, ordered the steak and shrimp. Steak was ok, mashed potatoes were flavorless, vegetables were old and dry. The three shrimp I got were the size of a nickel and were flavorless. My kids had a burger and chicken strips, burger was tiny and burned, chicken strips were also tiny and burned. They had a side of yogurt with strawberries, yogurt was old and rancid. Do not think I will be returning to this location.

The staff and management here are amazing, especially at the bar. Recently, they have made great revisions to their menu. The quality of the food is always great, but most importantly, the quality of service has always been great.

Fast service to be seated. Not so fast to get your food .... Food quality surprisingly good though. 2 For 1 drinks raised the score

I am not a crazy fan of Applebees. The food is okay and the service is never great. I always see the staff talking and messing around and it feels like they do not care to be working. Just there for a check. Only ate here if the majority of family and friends wanted to eat here. The Green Bean Crispers and the Queso Blanco is the only thing I like.

This isnt a resturant known for high end food, so i really do not see what people fuss about. For the price you pay, you get a pretty decent meal. This is my go-to place for just a casual night out. And after 9pm (10pm weekends) most of the appetizers are half off! In love with their potato twisters!!

Dear Applebee's, I have to say that you're A-OK in my book. As your motto goes, you're a great neighborhood bar and restaurant, and served your purpose as that. Located near my parent's house, this was a good choice for dinner with my dad on one of our visits to the hospital. We were seated right away, while we waited for Dad to arrive, and went ahead to order a round of beers and a spinach & artichoke dip. Our waitress was outgoing and nice and made our experience pleasant, however, the service was a bit slow in general. Dad got here, sat down, and I ordered him a beer, but the spinach dip made it out before any of our beers ever did. We were actually almost completely finished with the dip before we got to take a sip of our ice cold brew. Our meals were pretty good and reasonably priced. Dad had a steak, my love ordered chicken fingers, and I opted for an extremely tasty Caribbean rice with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were rather plain, although grilled well and quite tasty, but the rice was just stupendous. The Caribbean rice had pineapple, mango, and peppers. It was very refreshing to eat. We opted out of dessert as we were full and needed to get going. I have to say that the All-day, every-day happy hour is a great addition! The beers were all 2-for-1, which came in handy with the stressful times upon us. I will definitely be back the next time I come to visit Dad. Thanks, SabrinaAnna*

Ok, so let's start on the fact that I came here because I had a gift card and a free entrée coupon to use.. I never really had good experiences here, but decided to give it another shot.. Hey, I was practically eating for free here. Well, the best part ended there. The food was not even ok. I ordered their "pair two: Blackened sirloin, with roasted potatoes and a strawberry salad. Ok, if you suffer from high blood pressure, don't order the sirloin. I don't know how much sodium you can honestly put on a 4 oz. steak. Also, the roasted potatoes were drenched in some tomato vinaigrette, that was gross. My friend also ordered a tilapia, and when she asked for it to be not spicy, it was a boiled hot mess, no flavor. Oh, and let's not forget my strawberry lemonade. I can honestly say that after tasting several across town, I can tell when it's a fountain soda. Yuck! I can say that the waitress was very attentive though and constantly came back to check on us. Again, I will probably never come here again.

Service was ok but food was MEDIOCRE. Drinks were good. Appetizers were so so, but did not convince us enough to have an entree. No wonder the place was half full and Fridays across the street had people waiting in and outside.

I went here for drinks this past weekend and it was ok. The place wasn't packed but the hostess asked us to give her a few minutes. So we just walked to the bar. The bar was completely empty, but the bartender and some waiters were having a disagreement about missing money, so it took awhile to get an order. The drink specials were nothing special. Typical? Perhaps

Came on a Friday night, not busy at all; they had many open tables. The guy at the front opened the door and welcomed my sister and I to dine-in. Then, the worst part, we waited 20mins at our table and the waiter never came. My sister and I got up and left. Cant comment on the food. If you are hungry don't come to this Applebee's there is a Fridays in the same plaza.

We went to Applebee's on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy. The host opened the door for us, I thought that was very nice. Our waiter Alex was very nice and attentive as well. He came and took our orders, asked us if everything was okay couple of times, refilled our drinks. I didn't have any problem with the service. Great! Onto the menu, I love the facts that they put the Weight Watchers points on some of the menu items. I wish they could do that for ALL of them. It really helps for people that are trying to watch what they eat (that would be me.) I ordered the shrimp with rice that was only 8 points. The shrimp tasted really good, but it wasn't a wow factor. It is definitely a bit expensive for that dish. It was around 13 dollars. I might have to try something else next time. Onto the environment, I thought the music was a bit loud. It really drowns out all the people talking and it seems like you are in a very quiet restaurant. I would like to see the TVs on different channels instead of all sports. I guess that's what most people watch.
